GOLDRAT RIVER SLUICING: A HISTORY

The initial days of gold mining in the Goldrat were marked by a distinctive method known as sluicing. Originating from the demand to extract precious minerals from the highly compacted riverbeds, sluicing flourished as a common practice. Resourceful miners would construct elaborate sluice boxes, carefully guiding the river water to wash away the
